Co-opting green

At the Los Angeles Auto Show this year, the Chevy Tahoe hybrid won the "green car of the year" award. The irony?

The Chevy Tahoe gets 20 miles to the gallon. Outside, several plug-in hybrid Toyota Priuses were featured: with capability to get over 100 miles per gallon.

Nice try, Tahoe.

What?! That's ridiculous.

My parents are making the 13-hr trek today to visit me. I'm excited to see (and drive) their newest vehicle: the Toyota Prius!

I've got friends out here in Seattle that have a Prius. It's a nice car; it seems well-suited for city driving. I suspect I'll be buying one in a few years, once they switch over to a newer battery technology and allow for plug-in charging at home.

I'll miss riding my bike everywhere, but less so on some days. (8 miles to the gym at night, in the rain gets cold!)
